Transformation of sentences কী?
বাক্যের অর্থ পরিবর্তন না করে, একটি বাক্যকে অন্য এক ধরনের বাক্যে পরিবর্তন করাই হলো Transformation of sentences.
Assertive to Imperative
Assertive Sentence কে Imperative Sentence এ পরিবর্তন করতে হলে, আমাদেরকে আগে Assertive ও Imperative Sentence কী, তা জানতে ও চিনতে হবে। গতবারের শীট থেকে আমরা Assertive Sentence সম্পর্কে জেনেছি। আজ আমরা Imperative Sentence সম্পর্কে জানব।
Imperative Sentence কি? চেনার উপায় কী?
Imperative Sentence মানে আদেশ, উপদেশ, অনুরোধ, প্রস্তাব, নির্দেশ ইত্যাদি বোঝানো হয়ে থাকে। Imperative Sentence মূল ক্রিয়া বা Main Verb দিয়ে শুরু হয় এবং বাক্যের শেষে (.) Full Stop থাকে ।
যেমনঃ Open the book. এখানে, বাক্যের শুরুতে Open আছে (যা একটি Main Verb) এবং বাক্যের শেষে (.) Full Stop আছে।
Rules – Assertive to Imperative
Rule – 1
Assertive Sentence এ You থাকলে Imperative করার সময়, You থেকে মূল Verb এর আগ পর্যন্ত বাদ যাবে + Main Verb থেকে (.) Full Stop পর্যন্ত লিখব।
সংক্ষেপে – বাক্যের শুরুতে You থাকলে = মূল verb + বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Note: অনুরোধ/ভদ্রতা প্রকাশের জন্য Imperative Sentence এর শুরুতে বা শেষে Please/Kindly লিখা যেতে পারে।
Example:
Assertive : You should go there. Imperative: Go there. / Please, Go there.
এখানে Go হচ্ছে মূল Verb, তাই আমরা নিয়ম অনুযায়ী Verb থেকে (.) Full Stop পর্যন্ত লিখব। বিস্তারিত ক্লাসে বলা হবে।
Rule – 2
বাক্যের শুরুতে You এবং মাঝে not জাতীয় শব্দ থাকলে Imperative করার সময়, You থেকে মূল Verb এর আগ পর্যন্ত বাদ যাবে + Don’t লিখব + Main Verb থেকে (.) Full Stop পর্যন্ত লিখব।
Example:
Assertive : You should not go there. Imperative: Don’t go there. / Please, don’t go there.
Rule – 3
বাক্যের শুরুতে You ছাড়া অন্য Person, Subject হিসেবে থাকলে, Imperative করার সময় Let + Subject এর Object + মূল Verb থেকে (.) Full Stop পর্যন্ত লিখব।
সংক্ষেপে – বাক্যের শুরুতে You নাথাকলে = Let + Subject এর Object + মূল verb + বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Example:
Assertive : He may go there. Imperative: Let him go there.
Rule – 4
বাক্যের শুরুতে You ছাড়া অন্য Person, Subject হিসেবে থাকলে এবং মাঝে not জাতীয় শব্দ থাকলে, Imperative করার সময় Let + Subject এর Object + not + মূল Verb থেকে (.) Full Stop পর্যন্ত লিখব।
সংক্ষেপে – বাক্যের শুরুতে You নাথাকলে এবং মাঝে not থাকলে = Let + Subject এর Object + not + মূল verb + বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Note: Object যদি Pronoun হয়, তাহলে Let + Obj. + not লিখব ; Obj. যদি Noun হয়, তাহলে Let + not + Obj. লিখব।
Examples:
Assertive : He may not go there. Imperative: Let him not go there.
Assertive : Ishak does not tell a lie. Imperative: Let not Ishak tell a lie.
Rule – 5
বাক্যের শুরুতে You are requested to থাকলে, Imperative করার সময়, You are requested to এর পরিবর্তে Please/Kindly + (,) কমা + মূল Verb থেকে (.) Full Stop পর্যন্ত লিখব।
Example:
Assertive : You are requested to give me a glass of water. Imperative: Please, give me a glass of water.
Rule – 6
বাক্যের শুরুতে You are requested not to থাকলে, Imperative করার সময়, You are requested not to এর পরিবর্তে Please/Kindly + (,) কমা + don’t + মূল Verb থেকে (.) Full Stop পর্যন্ত লিখব।
Example:
Assertive: You are requested not to go there. Imperative: Please, don’t go there.
Rules –Imperative to Assertive
Rule – 1
মূল Verb দিয়ে বাক্য শুরু হলে, Assertive করার সময় You + should/must + সম্পূর্ণ বাক্য লিখব।
Example:
Imperative: Go there. Assertive: You should/must go there.
Rule – 2
Don’t + মূল Verb দিয়ে বাক্য শুরু হলে, Assertive করার সময় Don’t বাদ যাবে + You + should/must + not + মূল Verb থেকে বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Example:
Imperative: Don’t go there. Assertive: You should/must not go there.
Rule – 3
Let দিয়ে বাক্য শুরু হলে, Assertive করার সময় Let বাদ যাবে + Object এর Subject + should/must + মূল Verb থেকে বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Example:
Imperative: Let him come in. Assertive: He should come in.
Rule – 4
বাক্যে Let এবং মাঝে not থাকলে , Assertive করার সময় Let বাদ যাবে + Object এর Subject + should/must + not + মূল Verb থেকে বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Examples:
Imperative: Let him not go there. Assertive: He should not go there.
Imperative: Let not Razia go there. Assertive: Razia should not go there.
Rule – 5
বাক্যে Please/Kindly/Pardon/Excuse/Forgive এ জাতীয় শব্দ থাকলে , সেই শব্দটি বাদ যাবে + You are requested to + মূল Verb থেকে বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Example:
Imperative: Please, give me a pen. Assertive: You are requested to give me a pen.
Rule – 6
বাক্যে Please/Kindly/Pardon/Excuse/Forgive এবং not জাতীয় শব্দ থাকলে , সেই শব্দগুলো বাদ যাবে + You are requested not to + মূল Verb থেকে বাকি অংশ লিখব।
Example:
Imperative: Don’t tell a lie, please. Assertive: You are requested not to tell a lie.
